1. Information handled by the app
ChronoTally stores tally names, colors, identifiers, creation dates, display-timeframe preferences, custom-period settings, and timestamped entries locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. This data is not transmitted to the developer or to any server by the app.
ChronoTally does not transmit this content to me or to any server I operate. The app does not require your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or an account.
2. Storage and device backups
ChronoTally does not provide automatic cloud synchronization. Your active app data remains in the app’s local storage on your iPhone.
Depending on your iOS and backup settings, Apple may include app data in an iCloud device backup or a backup you make to a computer. Those platform backups are controlled by you and Apple, not by ChronoTally or the publisher.
3. Exports, backups, and restores
ChronoTally provides user-initiated data portability features:
- CSV export: You can export a tally’s name, entry identifiers, timestamps, and time-zone context.
- Complete JSON backup: You can create a versioned backup containing every tally, its settings (including display-timeframe and custom-period preferences), and every timestamped entry so you can restore the app’s local data.
- Restore: You can select a compatible JSON backup and choose to merge it with current data or replace current data.
Exported data is sent only to the destination you select through Apple’s sharing interface, such as Files, Mail, or another app. I do not receive a copy. After export, the selected destination’s privacy practices apply, and you are responsible for protecting and deleting exported files.
4. Retention and deletion
Local data remains on your device until you delete an entry or tally, replace current data during a restore, or uninstall the app. Deleting a tally permanently removes that tally and its entries from the app’s active local data after confirmation.
Copies may remain in device backups you control or in files you previously exported. Those copies must be managed separately through Apple’s backup controls or the location where you saved them.
5. Analytics, advertising, and third-party SDKs
ChronoTally does not include third-party runtime SDKs, advertising, behavioral analytics, or cross-app tracking. It does not sell or share your app content for advertising or marketing.
If you enable Apple’s option to share diagnostics with app developers, Apple may make crash or performance information available to the publisher. That process is controlled through your device settings and Apple’s privacy practices; ChronoTally does not add a separate analytics service.
6. Email support
If you email chronotally.support@gmail.com, I receive the email address, message, and any attachments you choose to provide. I use that information to respond, investigate the reported issue, and maintain necessary support records. Support messages are retained only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes or to meet legal obligations.
Support email is provided through Gmail, so Google processes the communication as an email service provider under its Privacy Policy. Please do not send a ChronoTally backup or sensitive tally content unless it is necessary and you are comfortable sharing it.
7. External links
ChronoTally can open its public privacy policy and support page in your web browser and can start an email to support in your configured mail app. ChronoTally does not include payment or donation links.
8. This website
This is a static website hosted by GitHub Pages. It does not use a contact form, first-party analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or externally hosted fonts. GitHub may collect technical information such as visitor IP addresses for security and service operation, as described in the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
9. Apple services
Apple distributes ChronoTally and provides the operating system, App Store, sharing interface, optional device backups, and optional diagnostics described above. Apple’s handling of information is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
10. Children’s privacy
ChronoTally does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent personal information through email support, contact me to request its deletion.
11. Your choices
Because I do not receive or maintain your tally data, I cannot access, recover, or delete it for you. You control it through ChronoTally’s deletion, export, backup, and restore features and through your device and backup settings. You may request deletion of support correspondence by contacting me, subject to any legal retention requirement.
12. Changes to this policy
I may update this policy when ChronoTally’s features or data practices change. The revised policy will be posted at this URL with a new “last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated in the app or through another appropriate notice when required.
